Commission a Painting

I am often inspired by the creativity of my clients and what they ask me to create for them. One of my latest commissions was for MAC Presents, an agency in Manhattan.  The above piece is a result of their concept and my execution.  They wanted something big and branded for their powder room.   Music is their business and the inspiration for this life-size concert that brought the room to life!

Over the years, I have been hired to paint New York landmarks, family portraits, country houses, favorite locations, and more. Commissions are the best way to get exactly what you’re looking for. See catalog of examples here.

Read about the commission process below.

Step one: Decide on the size of the painting you need

A. Where do you plan on hanging your new painting? Is it intended for a certain spot?

B. What size works best for you? Do you need a portrait or landscape orientation?

C. How much money do you plan to invest? Laura’s originals range anywhere from $750 to $10,000 depending on size and medium.

D. Laura currently has a waiting list. Please email her to find what turn around times are currently.

Step two: Select what you love

A. You can browse through Laura’s portfolio or set up a studio visit for a consultation with the artist directly.

B. Select one painting, or elements from several that catch your eye. Laura can create a special painting combining all the elements you like into one unique original!  If you want a Loving version of your favorite family portrait, home or landmark location, please be sure to email digital photos of subject matter for initial conversation.

C. Discuss details with Laura on the phone or in person to nail down details and put on paper before starting.  25% down payment due upon agreed details.

Step three: Approving your commission

A. In a few weeks , Laura will email you a picture of the sketch for your approval. If there are any changes you would like made, this would be the time to do it.  Laura is easy to work with, and is happy to make any changes needed to ensure that the painting ordered is exactly what you envisioned for your space.

B. After the sketch has been approved, Laura will complete the painting.

C. Once complete, you will receive an email with photo of the completed painting.  After you approve the image, Laura will carefully box and ship the painting directly to you.   Balance to be paid at time of delivery.
