Dolly gave us so much more than unforgettable songs. Her legacy includes:

• The Imagination Library: providing free, high-quality books to millions of children and inspiring a lifelong love of reading.
• Education and Scholarships— supporting young people and encouraging them to stay in school and pursue their dreams.
• Disaster Relief — helping families and communities recover from devastating fires, floods, and other disasters.
• Healthcare giving — supporting children’s hospitals, medical care, research, and community health initiatives.
• Music and Storytelling — creating songs and stories that have comforted, inspired, and brought joy to generations.

Did you know that the butterfly was Dolly’s beloved personal symbol. As a child growing up in the Smoky Mountains, she loved chasing butterflies because they were colorful, gentle, and harmless. She said she related to those qualities and eventually adopted the butterfly as her symbol. It became woven into her music, her style, her personal brand, and even the iconic design of Dollywood.
